Correction: An earlier version of this post identified the wrong road closure limits. The closure is between Laurel Road and Tatlow Road. The detour route remains unchanged via Birch Road, Chalet Road, and Tatlow Road. We apologize for the confusion and appreciate everyone’s patience.
As part of the Chalet Creek Culvert Emergency Repair Project, the contractor has now implemented the full closure of West Saanich Road between Laurel Road and Tatlow Road to begin culvert replacement work. The closure is required to safely complete excavation and installation activities associated with this critical infrastructure project.
Traffic Detour
- A fully signed detour route is in place for all vehicle traffic: Birch Road → Chalet Road → Tatlow Road.
- Motorists are asked to follow posted signage and allow for additional travel time while the closure is in effect.
Emergency Access
- To ensure emergency services can continue to respond efficiently in the area, a temporary emergency access route is being established at the end of Laurel Road for fire and ambulance use.
