Application deadline: October 30, 2026
The District of North Saanich is encouraging local youth to apply to participate in the 98th British Columbia Youth Parliament (BCYP), taking place December 27 to 31, 2026, at the Provincial Legislative Chambers in Victoria.
BC Youth Parliament is a province-wide, non-partisan organization for young people ages 16 to 21. The program provides participants with an opportunity to learn about parliamentary processes, develop citizenship and leadership skills, and participate in community service activities throughout the year.
During its five-day parliamentary session, participants will sit and debate in the Legislative Chambers in Victoria. Participation in BCYP is a one-year commitment that continues beyond the December session through involvement in community service initiatives.
Funding available for North Saanich participants
District of North Saanich Council has authorized funding to cover the $600 registration fee for up to two participants from North Saanich who are accepted to the program.
The registration fee includes accommodation during the parliamentary session and transportation to and from Victoria for participants who require it.
