Blaauw Pier Remediation

The District of North Saanich will be undertaking maintenance and remediation work on the historic Blaauw Pier in Deep Cove beginning in early September.

Named after resident Bill Blaauw, the 100-year-old pier is a valued community landmark. A 2025 structural assessment identified several structural components requiring repairs to help preserve the pier and maintain public safety. The District has retained a contractor through its procurement process to complete the necessary maintenance work.

To accommodate the work, the pier will be temporarily closed to the public. Signage and fencing will be installed to restrict access during construction.

The work is expected to be completed within a short period of time. Additional project details and construction timelines will be shared as they become available.
