In BC, general local elections take place every four years. These elections provide residents with a direct way to participate in local democracy by choosing the individuals who will represent the community and make decisions on their behalf for the municipality and local school district during the next term.
In the 2026 general local election, you will be able to cast a vote for candidates for the following four-year terms (2026-2030):
- MAYOR (1 to be elected)
- COUNCILLOR (6 to be elected)
- SCHOOL TRUSTEE (2 to be elected) for School District No. 63 TEA#1
Candidate nomination packages for the 2026 general local election are now available and can be received by email or picked up at Municipal Hall during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm (excluding Stat holidays).
Email election@northsaanich.ca to receive your nomination package electronically.
