Notice is hereby given that the District of North Saanich, pursuant to Section 464 (2) of the Local Government Act, waived the holding of a Public Hearing in relation to proposed Bylaw 1461, an amendment to the District of North Saanich Zoning Bylaw No. 1255. Section 464 (2) permits the waiving of Public Hearings in relation to zoning bylaws that are consistent with the municipality's Official Community Plan. District of North Saanich Council will consider third reading of Bylaw No. 1461 at its regular meeting scheduled for Monday, September 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. held at the North Saanich Municipal Hall (1620 Mills Road).
Purpose: Bylaw 1461 would amend the definition of "ALR Cannabis Production and Sale" in Zoning Bylaw No. 1255 to correct references to the Agricultural Land Commission Use Subdivision and Procedure Regulation which was recently updated with revised provisions relating to the production of cannabis as a farm use in the ALR. Bylaw 1461 reflects that the references to cannabis production sites are now listed in Section 2(2.5) of the Agricultural Land Commission Use Subdivision and Procedure Regulation. The bylaw also includes provisions to make such consequential changes as are required to reflect the amendment, including changes in the numbering, ordering of alphabetical lists, and Table of Contents in Zoning Bylaw No. 1255.
The proposed bylaw and relevant staff report may be inspected at the North Saanich Municipal Hall, 1620 Mills Road, North Saanich B.C. between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from September 7, 2018 to September 17, 2018 inclusive, except for weekends and holidays.
