Commissions and Committees

The District will soon be accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on Advisory Commissions and Committees. There will be vacancies on the following:

  1. Community Planning Commission
  2. Community Stewardship Commission
  3. Peninsula Recreation Commission
  4. Saanich Peninsula Wastewater Committee
  5. Victoria Airport Authority Noise Management Committee

Interested parties can complete the Appointments to Committees, Boards, and Commission form found on this website or obtain a hard copy by visiting the Municipal Hall at 1620 Mills Road from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays excluding statutory holidays.


Advisory Commissions

The Community Planning Commission will provide Council with advice on land use and agricultural matters referred to the Commission by Council or Staff.

Advice on parks, environmental and heritage referrals from Council or Staff is provided by the Community Stewardship Commission.

Each year the Council appoints members of the North Saanich community to serve as representatives on the advisory commissions. The District welcomes applications from members of the public in the fall of each year. For more information or if you are interested in serving on an advisory commission, please contact the Director of Corporate Services at 250-655-5453. Interested applicants can complete the application form for an Advisory Commission and return it to the Municipal Hall.

Statutory Boards and External Committees

Boards and Committees are created and regulated by other organizations such as the provincial and federal levels of government and the Capital Regional District. Each Board and Committee has a unique function within the local government framework. Currently there are four such bodies in North Saanich
