Thank you for taking part in the survey on Briarwood beach access . The survey has now closed. We look forward to sharing the results and providing information on our next steps.

As directed by council motion, the District of North Saanich is undertaking a comprehensive review of the Briarwood beach access, located at the north end of the Ardmore neighbourhood. This review will focus on opportunities for improved safety, accessibility, emergency access, servicing, recreation, and environmental stewardship. The District is committed to providing safety in balance with community access to the waterfront for all ages and abilities.

Briarwood beach access is popular due to its natural beauty, relative ease of access, and suitability for paddle sport boat launching and swimming. Visitor parking here is limited to designated areas along the road shoulders and signage is used to communicate local parking restrictions to help guide parking management. Local residents have communicated concerns about safe access due to parked vehicles (especially during summer months, hot days, and weekends).

How can we best improve Briarwood beach access?

We want to hear from you!

Your input will inform draft recommendations for future improvements at Briarwood, and a broader review of the District’s beach accesses (2023/2024).
