North Saanich is predominantly a rural and agricultural area, with a few residential and commercial developments scattered throughout the District. Our community is surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean and is home to the Victoria International Airport and the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal which connects Vancouver Island to mainland British Columbia. North Saanich provides visitors with a breath-taking representation of the Canadian countryside and is considered to be the gateway to Victoria, British Columbia’s capital city.
North Saanich has an extensive park and trails network linking municipal, provincial and Capital Regional District parklands, making it a very popular area for day hiking, cycling and horse back riding. We are anxious to share our community with visitors and residents alike and encourage you to stop at one of our roadside vegetable or flower stands, walk along one of our beaches, or visit one of the many other places of interest and see for yourself why we consider North Saanich to be the best place on earth.
