| Public Hearings on Bylaws |
The Local Government Act requires the District to hold a public hearing before adopting a zoning bylaw or official community plan bylaw. The purpose of a public hearing is to afford all persons who believe their interest in property may be affected by a proposed bylaw an opportunity to be heard and to make written submissions.
When a public hearing is to be held the District gives notice of the hearing in the Peninsula News Review. The notice includes the date and time of the hearing, the purpose of the bylaw, the land or lands that are the subject of the bylaw, and when and how copies of the bylaw and supporting documentation may be inspected. A link to the notice and documentation will appear on this page.
