Parks Commission

The Parks Commission is an advisory commission to Council and consists of volunteers who live in North Saanich. Appointments to this Commission are made annually by the Municipal Council. The purpose of the Commission is to advise Council on matters relating to the acquisition, disposal, enlargement, maintenance, protection and development of Municipal parks, including budgetary implications of such matters. The Commission is also expected to work with resident groups and local service clubs interested in assisting with park improvement projects approved by Council. Although meetings are open to the public, debates with applicants or members of the public over current issues usually occur at Committee of the Whole and other public forums rather than at Commission meetings.

The Parks Commission is comprised of 9 regular members,
