Councillor Green
Cairine is a second-term councillor born and raised in Saanich where her father served as a former MLA and Reeve of Saanich.  Cairine first lived in North Saanich in 1979 and returned in 1992.  Cairine established a part-time human resources and counselling practice following a successful career in the BC Public Service and community and university college systems.  She completed her Master’s degree in 1993 and has also completed various professional development training programs/seminars including leadership, advanced mediation skills, public consultation and project management.

Cairine has a long history of volunteerism with non-profit organizations both in Victoria and Duncan and is a former member of the Environmental Advisory Commission, Advisory Planning Commission, and former Board Member of the North Saanich Residents’ Association.

She enjoys time with family and friends and spends spring and summer gardening, boating and riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle with husband Fred.  Cairine has one son Matthew and a large extended family that includes her husband’s 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren.
