Central North Saanich

Below is a synopsis of what the Central North Saanich neighbourhood offers North Saanich residents and what the Park Commission's recommendations for improvements are. For detailed findings and recommendations please review the full 2010 Central North Saanich Neighbourhood Inventory Report. Please note that although the narratives are complete in the report, some of the tables and maps may not be at this time. This deficiency is being remedied.

Neighbourhood Summary

This portion of North Saanich includes the predominately agricultural lands north and south of the Victoria International Airport, the Airport itself, an industrial zone pockets of residential development, and two First Nations Reserves. The cluster of residences north of the Airport along the shores of Patricia Bay enjoys several points of access to Patricia Bay Beach and the Scoter Trail and a network of trails and quiet country roads to the east (an area suited to family cycling outings).  More adventurous cyclists from the District and beyond are drawn to the newly-established Free Ride Bike Park north of the District Hall. The portion of the Central Area south of the Airport is very sparsely settled.  It contains a portion of John Dean Provincial Park.
