Regional Parks


The CRD Parks Department protects and manages more than 10,000 hectares of spectacular and easily accessible natural areas in 29 regional parks and trails on southern Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.  Two of these regional parks are located within North Saanich.


Coles Bay Regional Park

Coles Bay Regional Park  is a 9 acre park located on the west side of North Saanich at the south end of Inverness Road in the Ardmore area.  The park offers a gentle swimming beach and forest trails suitable for the whole family.  You can follow the beach access trail or take a 10-minute stroll down the nature trail from the main parking lot to the beach.  Picnic tables and pit toilets are also available.

Horth Hill Regional Park

Horth Hill Regional Park is a 90 acre hilltop park located at the north end of the District.  The main access to the park is from the parking lot off Tatlow Road.  Enjoy a vigorous climb through the forest up the summit trail and take in the panoramic views of the Saanich Peninsula, Gulf Islands and San Juan Islands.  A variety of other trails offer an excellent experience for hikers, visitors on horseback or those who want to take their dog for a walk.
