Dogs:
North Saanich parks, trails and wide-open spaces seem like paradise for dogs and dog owners. North Saanich residents enjoy the liberty of exercising their dogs in their community parks off their leash, and near their homes, based on the following restrictions.
|
• |
Dogs are accompanied and under the effective control of their attendants; |
|
• |
Dogs (over six months old) are licensed and wear a tag current for the license year; |
|
• |
Dog excrement (droppings) are removed immediately by the dog’s attendant and disposed of properly in a garbage receptacle. |
Currently dog restrictions apply only to Dominion Brook Park and the portion of Cy Hampson Park east of Lochside Drive, where dogs are allowed on condition that they are kept on a leash at all times.
Horses:
Preferential horseback riding trails lie within the areas of Bluebell Park, Green Park, Readings Park, R.O. Bull Park, Sumac Park, Wain Park, Coles Bay Regional Park, John Dean Provincial Park and Horth Hill Regional Park.
