Applying On-line for the Provincial Home Owner Grant (HOG)
North Saanich property owners who qualify for the Provincial Home Owner Grant may apply for the grant on-line. To apply for the grant, complete the Home Owner Grant Application and follow the on-screen instructions.
Before following the on-screen instructions for claiming the grant, you will need your “folio number” (roll number) and the “access code” found on the top right hand corner of your property tax notice.
Example: Folio No.: 01234.123
Jur Number: 332 District of North Saanich Roll Number: 01234.123 Access Code: XXXXXX
If you qualify to claim the grant on-line, you will not have to send in the application that is on the bottom of your tax notice. If you have any trouble completing the on-line application, please give the office a call at 250-656-0781 and someone will assist you in completing the form.
We would like to hear from anyone who uses this program to determine how easy (or difficult) it was to claim the home owner grant and/or pay your taxes. Please use our Feedback webpage to provide your comments. Your input is very important to us.
Provincial Home Owner Grant Information
The BC Government offers the Home Owner Grant Program, which is designed to provide property tax relief to owner-occupiers. On the BC Government Home Owner Grant website you will find details about HOG amounts, eligibility and other information.
The HOG application form is located at the bottom of the property tax notice. It is important to sign and complete the HOG application in full. The same deadlines apply to HOG applications as property taxes. Late or incomplete HOG applications will be charged the same penalties that outstanding taxes incur.
Please view the Schedule of Home Owner Grant reductions if your property is assessed at $1,050,000.00 or higher.
