Founded in 1944, CUPE Local 374 is Vancouver Islands’ largest local and represents over 1500 municipal employees. Our employers include the District of Saanich, the District of Oak Bay, the District of North Saanich, the Town of Sidney, the City of Colwood, the District of Metchosin and the District of Sooke. District of North Saanich outside employees joined CUPE Local 374 in 1974 and inside workers joined in 1978. CUPE is Canada’s largest union with over 600,000 members across the country.
